There are plenty of places in the world where the choice of hotels consists primarily of international-style, concrete block properties with little in the way of unique character or charm, and where the choice comes down to star-rating or what style of resort you opt for.
Happily in India, you can almost completely omit this type of, dare we say it, bland hotel and venture into a whole other world of accommodation. Words like heritage and boutique are thrown around liberally when it comes to Indian hotels, but these are quite appropriate terms in many cases.
You can pick and choose from restored palaces, forts or slightly less grand ancestral homes, custom-built guesthouses, eco-farm-stays, safari lodges, tented camps, tree-houses, colonial-era hotels and much, much more besides.
One thing which makes Indian Panorama unique is the amount of time and energy we spend visiting hotels annually. We are only too aware that with good lighting and a wide-angle lens, a shoebox-like hotel room can be made to look the size of a tennis court! And that standards can fluctuate year to year. We take notice of online reviews, but more important to us are our own experiences of the places we visit, and the specific feedback from our clients.
Your Tour Planner will know the destinations you are visiting well, and will be happy to discuss hotel choices with you. We are never beholden to any particular accommodation provider and there is no commission system in our company, so our hotel choices are, for want of a better word, clean.
Depending on the town or city in question, we will consider a number of factors in selecting hotels: in some larger cities location isn’t critical as distances and traffic are going to be an issue whereever you stay, while in older cities, particularly in Rajasthan there is a vast difference between staying centrally near the ‘old city’ area of a given place, and staying in the modern parts of the city which might lack character almost completely.
Value for money is obviously important too, and it’s worth noting that our prices are very often much better than what you’ll see online.
