Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple – Ancient Shiva Shrine Kerala
Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple, also known as Thrikkaviyoor Mahadeva Temple, stands as one of the prominent Shiva temples in Kerala. It is beautifully positioned in Kaviyoor, Thiruvalla, in the Pathanamthitta District of Kerala. The primary deity, known as Thrikkaviyoorappan, is Lord Mahadeva (Shiva) accompanied by Parvathi. As per the dhyanasloka (meditative concept), Lord Shiva at Kaviyoor Temple assumes a serene form, seated in the lotus position (padmasana), embracing Goddess Parvati with his left hand, and encircled by his sons Ganapathi and Subrahmanya. Although the primary deity at this temple is Lord Shiva, Hanuman is also worshipped here with great significance and the temple houses a unique Hanuman temple within its premises.
