The Edathua Church is renowned for its reputed miraculous powers, believed to heal various ailments including mental disorders. Thousands of visitors, regardless of their religious beliefs, flock to the church seeking miraculous cures.
The highlight of the Edathua Church is its annual feast, known as "Edathua Perunnal". The feast of St. George, known as Edathua Perunnal, commences on April 27 with the raising of the festival flag and concludes on May 7. During this festive period, the church attracts devotees and tourists alike. The gold-adorned statue of St. George takes center stage on the dais within the basilica, surrounded by bustling vendors and stalls on the church grounds.
