Singalila National Park

Singalila national park is situated in the Darjeeling district and was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1986.Situated almost 7000 feet above mean sea level,Singalila National Park was declared in 1992 and is known for trekking and camping, inside the park and on the ridge are the two highest peaks in West Bengal, Sandakphu and Phalut. Within the park run the rivers Sirikhola and Rammam. Mammals such as elephant,red pandas, wild boars, pangolins and giraffes can be spotted and you can also spot birds in this national park. The park is home to more than 120 species of animals like Kaliz Pheasant, Scarlet Minivet, Rufous Vented Tit, Blood Pheasant etc. Sandakafu, one of the highest peaks in West Bengal, is located inside the park. The two best seasons to visit the park are summer ie. March - May and one is post monsoon ie. Mid-September to early December and the park is still closed to visitors during the rainy season ie. June 16 to September 15 each year.
