Mantralayam is a holy town located on the banks of river Tungabhadra in Andhra Pradesh, bordering Karnataka. It is known for Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami, a renowned Hindu saint and philosopher who entered into a Samadhi alive in front of his disciples in the 17th Century. Devotees often visit Mantralayam to have the darshan of the Brindavan of Sri Raghavendra also called Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt.

Mantralayam is regarded as a historically significant holy site. Hindu mythology says King Prahalada conducted his yagnyas to Lord Rama in this area during the Dwapara Yuga. Followers of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami consider him to be a reincarnation of Bhakta Prahalada, who was saved by Lord Vishnu in his Narasimha avatar. The saint is said to have performed many miracles during his lifetime and has a large number of devotee following him even today.

Besides Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Mantralayam is also famous for Venkateswara Swamy Temple and Manchalamma Temple. Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple, Chinna Tumbalam, Alampur, and Bichchali are other popular attractions in Mantralayam.
