Malik Dinar Mosque Kasaragod
The Malik Dinar Mosque is located in Thalangara, Kasaragod district in Kerala. It is the second oldest mosque in India and a prominent pilgrimage site in Kasaragod district. The historic Malik Dinar Mosque is built by Malik Ibn Dinar, a Muslim scholar and traveller who is credited with the propagation of Islam in Kerala. Malik Ibn Dinar is believed to be one of the first Muslims to have come to India. It is said that the mosque was constructed in 642 AD during the reign of Cheraman Perumal of the Western Ganga dynasty. History says that Malik Dinar died at Thalangara and the mosque houses his grave, making it a revered site for Muslims.
