Detailed Itineary

  • Day 1 : Arrive at Dibrugarh

    Upon your arrival at Dibrugarh Airport, a friendly representative from Indian Panorama will be there to greet you and whisk you away to the delightful Chang Bungalows, where traditional stilted homes sit nestled among lush tea estates. Spend the day at leisure, soaking in the tranquil surroundings, or choose to explore the nearby attractions for a touch of local culture and scenic beauty.
    In the evening, immerse yourself in the local culture with a captivating Bihu dance performance by a talented ethnic troupe.

  • Day 2 : Dibrugarh Sightseeing

    Get ready for an unforgettable Assam tea tourism experience! You’ll visit historic tea estates and factories to discover the fascinating processes behind CTC and Orthodox tea production. Join an expert for a delightful tea tasting session featuring some of the finest blends. Stroll through the picturesque plantations and learn about the time-honoured cultivation techniques that have been passed down through generations.
    Note: Tea factories are closed on Mondays and are best visited between March and November, when the estates are lush, green, and in peak production, offering the most authentic tea garden experience.

  • Day 3 : Dibrugarh - Marghareta - Dibrugarh

    Option 1 – Margherita and Digboi Take a scenic drive to Margherita (100 km / 2.5 hrs) to visit a Singpho tribal village, renowned for its organic, handmade tea. En route, visit the historic Digboi Oil Museum—India’s first oil refinery—and the beautifully maintained WWII Allied Forces Cemetery, cared for by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

    Option 2 – Naharkatiya and Maguri Beel Wetland Explore Namphake Village, home to the Tai-origin Theravada Buddhists. Experience the Namphake Monastery and the rich Buddhist heritage preserved in ancient manuscripts. Then, head to Tinsukia for a serene boat ride at Maguri Beel, a paradise for birdwatchers and a treasure trove of wetland biodiversity.

  • Day 4 : Dibrugarh - Jorhat - Majuli Island

    After enjoying a hearty breakfast, drive to Jorhat, where we’ll explore the famous Tocklai Tea Research Station, one of the oldest tea research centers in the world. Next, we’ll make our way to Neematighat and check into a floating heritage hotel on the Brahmaputra River, where you can soak in stunning views and experience a truly unique stay.
    Note: Tocklai Tea Research Station is closed on Sundays.

  • Day 5 : Majuli Island - Kaziranga

    Hop on a country boat for a ride to Majuli Island, the largest inhabited river island in the world and a UNESCO cultural gem. We’ll tour the island in an SUV, visiting the Vaishnavite Satras (monastic centers), chatting with monks, and witnessing the traditional art of mask-making and other crafts that showcase the rich Assamese heritage.
    Afterward, we’ll return via ferry to Nimati Ghat and continue our drive to Kaziranga National Park (about 2 hours).

  • Day 6 : Explore Kaziranga National Park

    Get ready for an action-packed day at Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses. We’ll kick things off with an early morning elephant safari, followed by jeep safaris in both the central and western ranges, where we’ll keep an eye out for rhinos, elephants, deer, and wild buffalo.
    In the evening, enjoy a lively local folk dance performance and visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park.
    Note: The Park is open from November 1 to April 30.

  • Day 7 : Kaziranga - Bagdogra - Darjeeling

    After enjoying a hearty breakfast, make your way to Guwahati Airport to catch your flight to Bagdogra. Once you land, drive to Darjeeling, taking a moment to stop at Kurseong and Margaret’s Deck for some tea and breath-taking views of the valley. When you arrive, check into your hotel and either unwind or head out to visit the Mahakal Temple in the evening.

  • Day 8 : Darjeeling Sightseeing

    Begin your day with a guided tour of the iconic Happy Valley Tea Estate, followed by a delightful tea tasting experience amid the scenic Darjeeling hills. Next, explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Tibetan Refugee Centre, and the serene Japanese Peace Pagoda. Take in the stunning views and soak up the charming colonial atmosphere.
