Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary
The Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Palakkad and Thrissur districts of Kerala state, South India. It spans an area of 285 square kilometres (110 sq. mi). Established partly in 1973 and 1984, the sanctuary lies in the Sungam range of hills between the Anamalai Hills and Nelliyampathy Hills. On 19 February 2010, it was incorporated into the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve. The UNESCO World Heritage Committee has recognized the Western Ghats, Anamalai Sub-Cluster, including the entire Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, as a World Heritage Site.
