India’s first floating hotel in Mumbai

In a major stimulus to luxury tourism in the state, Maharashtra Tourism has brought the country’s first luxury Floatel for the tourists. The Floatel was put open for the public after sparkling ceremony of the launch on May 21.

The hotel, at Maritime Board Jetty near Bandra-Worli Sea Link, has a capacity of 660 passengers and provides a 360 degree view of Mumbai and the Arabian Sea.

AB Celestial is a professional state-of-the-art three-tier luxury dining floatel with a sky deck, two galleys, and will have two multi-cuisine restaurants, including a club lounge equipped with a 24-hour coffee shop.

The three-star hotel, constructed in the US, will have two restaurants for luxury dining, besides a coffee shop. Patrons will be picked up from four different spots in the city coast by speed boats. A helicopter ferry service is also on the cards. The entire project will get fully functional by September.
