India and Nepal share more than a majority Hindu population (interestingly, Nepal is officially a Hindu country, whereas India has no official state religion) and the border along the Himalaya.
During this 17 day tour you’ll be able to experience highlights of both countries by way of an 10-day exploration of some of North India’s most famous tourist places, preceded by time in the mountains and valleys of Nepal.
Kathmandu – Pokhara
Transfer to Kathmandu airport and fly to Pokhara in the morning with an afternoon tour of Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
Pokhara – Kathmandu- Delhi
Begin your final day in Nepal by driving out to Pokhara’s famed sunrise-point at first light, before flying back to Kathmandu with a flight to Delhi in the afternoon. On arrival in Delhi you’ll be met and assisted with the transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Delhi.
Delhi
India’s capital is a remarkable blend of old and new and a true melting pot as cultures and races from all across India and well beyond are drawn here for any number of reasons. Join a local guide and head off on a tour of some of the cities many monuments, important places of worship, colonial-era buildings and more. The markets of Delhi are amazing, and while it might be a bit early in your tour to fill your bags with shopping, there will certainly be the opportunity if you wish. Overnight in Delhi
Delhi- Jodhpur- Manvar
Fly to Jodhpur in the morning and meet your driver at the airport here. Make the short transfer out to Manvar where you’ll stay in a tented camp and get a glimpse of village and desert life. Ride a camel (or a jeep if you prefer!) into the desert for sunset. Overnight at Manvar
Manvar- Jodhpur
More time around Manvar in the morning to visit villages and interact with local people before driving back into Jodhpur. Begin your time here with a walking tour to explore the markets of the old city. Overnight in Jodhpur
Jodhpur- Jojawar
Drive around 4 hours south to the small town of Jojawar, and take a jeep ride in surrounding countryside in the afternoon, visiting remote jungle temples, tribal encampments and more; overnight in Jojawar
Jojawar- Bera
Morning excursion by train in the scenic Aravali Hills, and later drive to Bera, with a stop en route to visit the Jain temples at Ranakpur. On arrival at Bera check in at the resort and relax.
Bera - Udaipur
This day drive to Udaipur. Ample time in Udaipur is always desirable- the old city here is very walkable, but there is also a wealth of activities and options including cooking classes, boat rides, cycling and hiking in the hills, walking tours and more. Plus the major sights of the city which include the City Palace and intricately carved Jagdish temple. Overnight in Udaipur
Udaipur- Jaipur
You can opt to fly to Jaipur- the one hour flight is quite a bit easier than the full-day drive, although by driving you can see more of the unique Rajasthan countryside as you go along. Overnight in Jaipur
Jaipur- Agra
Drive first to Abhaneri (one of the most impressive stepwells in the country) then to Fatehpur Sikri, with time at both places before continuing on to reach Agra mid-afternoon. Overnight in Agra
Agra- Depart
Sightseeing around Agra- what a way to end your trip with a mormning visit to the Taj Mahal! Later depart Agra and drive direct to Delhi airport with departure in the evening
