Bandipur National park is situated in the Chamarajanagar district and it was founded in 1974 as a Project Tiger-related forest tiger reserve and it is famous for its tigers and the second highest tiger population in india.Bandipur National Park is regarded as one of India's most beautiful and well-known national parks. Bandipur National Park is spread across an approximate area of 874.2 square kilometres, amid the gorgeous surroundings of the majestic Western Ghat Mountains. Additional native species found in this beautiful forest are the black-knapped hare, wild dogs, wild boar, jackal, sloth bear, panther, porcupines, sambhar, chital, and four-horned antelope. Here you can also find birds like the green pigeon and jungle fowl. Its attraction is further enhanced by the richness of its flora and over 200 species of birds.
