Lal Bagh - Karnataka
Bengaluru was once a vast stretch of forest before becoming the IT hub of the country. The beautiful garden of Lal Bagh was commissioned by the famous king Hyder Ali and completed by his son Tipu Sultan. Amidst bustling markets, skyscrapers, trendy malls and upscale restaurants, the green garden of Lal Bagh keeps vibrating in the heart of the city.
The garden is known for its unique horticulture technology that has been in practice for a long time in Lal Bagh. During the bi-annual flower show the garden becomes alive with flowers in full blossom and the chatter of visitors. You can find gigantic structures of monuments, animals or other shapes made entirely out of flowers.
They are made by many florists in the city who without fail attend the flower show and create these marvels out of flowers. These flowers shaped into a structure are spell binding and allure visitors from far and near. At the entrance, you will be welcomed by gnomes that are usually a favorite for kids.
The garden is home to statues of many leaders like Queen Victoria, the Maharaja of Wodeyar, etc. At the heart of this beauty lies the spectacular glass house shaped like that of a diamond. This was built to acclimatize the rare species of plant life. Presently it showcases the flower structures that are built during the bi-annual flower show. Take a visit to the beautiful Lal Bagh and cherish in the heritage of Bangalore.
