Day 1 : Chennai Arrival - Mahabalipuram (70kms/2hrs) — On arrival at Chennai International Airport you will be received by our Tamilnadu and Kerala tour representative and transfer to Mahabalipuram which is famous for its unique temple architecture. Check into the resort and relax for the day in the beach. Overnight stay at Mahabalipuram.
Day 2 : Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram (70kms/1.5hrs each way) - Morning drive to Kanchipuram and do the sightseeing there of some the finest temples built during the Dravidian reign. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silk fabrics, so you can visit the silk weaving center and do some shopping. Later return to Mahabalipuram and visit Shore Temple, Arjuna Penance, Five Ratha Temple and Krishna's Butter Ball which are the finest examples of the South Indian temple architecture.Overnight stay at Mahabalipuram
Day 3 : Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (100kms/2.5hrs) - Post breakfast drive to Pondicherry the former French colony, the centre of the town still retains a French atmosphere in its architecture and planning. On arrival check into the resort and relax. Later visit the Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville founded by Sri Aurobindo Ghose, a Bengali philosopher in the early 20th century. Day 4 : Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Gangaikondacholapuram - Kumbakonam (250kms) — Next day of Tamilnadu To Kerala tour, Post breakfast drive to Kumbakonam enroute first stop will be Chidambaram, one of the main pilgrimage sites in India, a bustling temple, privately run and dedicated to the dancing Shiva, Nataraja. Continue to Gangaikondacholapuram now UNESCO protected is quiet away from the main tourist route with interesting architecture. Later drive to Kumbakonam and check into the hotel and relax. Day 5 : Kumbakonam - Tanjore - Kumbakonam (35kms/30mins each way) — Post breakfast visit some of the beautiful temples at Kumbakonam. Then drive to Tanjore and visit Chola Temple of Brihadeshwara,the Palace and Art Gallery, you can also watch the artisans making Bronze Statues which this area is famous for during Tamilnadu To Kerala tour. Day 6: Kumbakonam - Karaikudi (145kms/3hrs) — Post breakfast drive to Karaikudi the land of traditional bankers and traders who built spectacular bungalows and mansions all around this region. There is also an extensive museum dedicated to the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi and also visit Mariamman Teppakulam tank. In the evening visit the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams (rising high above the surrounding country side) and attend the night prayer ceremony there. Day 8 : Madurai - Periyar (150kms/4hrs) — Post breakfast drive to Periyar which is famous for its wildlife sanctuary. Check into the resort and later enjoy 02hrs elephant package which includes 01hr ride and then bathing, feeding, timber dragging process, command and communication, etc.In the evening watch a theatrical performance of Kalaripayattu martial art show. Day 9 : Periyar - Munnar (120kms /5hrs) — Early morning enjoy boat ride in the lake to watch the wild animals in the reserve as they come near the lake to drink water and graze. Later drive to Munnar which is the most beautiful hill station of Kerala. Check into the resort and later walk around the tea plantations and explore the hill station on your own. Day 10 : Munnar — Post breakfast do the sightseeing tour of Munnar visiting Eravikulam National Park and Rajamala peak home to endangered species of Nilgiri Thar (mountain goats), Tea Factory, Mattupetty Dam (where speed boating can be done) and Echo Point. Day 11 : Munnar - Kumarakom (190kms/5hrs) — After late breakfast, drive to Kumarakom and check into the beautiful backwater resort where the driver will drop you and return. You have the option for ayurvedic massage and walk around the nearby village to mingle with the local people.Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
Day 12 : Kumarakom - Alleppey (Houseboat) — Leisurely morning in the resort and at 12noon your private houseboat will reach the resort to pick you and start your backwater cruise in the narrow canals towards Alleppey. During the journey of Tamilnadu To Kerala you can visit ancient temples, churches, paddy fields and can watch the day to day activities of the local people who live nearby. In the evening, the boat will be anchored in a local village where you can go for a walk or do fishing. Your crew will prepare delicious Kerala food on board and will take care of you. Day 13 : Alleppey - Cochin (70kms/1.5hrs) — Post breakfast disembark the houseboat at Alleppey by 9.30am, from where you will be picked and transfer to Cochin. Check into the heritage hotel located in the ancient town of Fort Cochin. Afternoon do the guided city tour visiting Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, Indo - Portuguese Museum and the Chinese Fishing Nets. Day 14 : Cochin Departure —On this day as per the flight schedule, you will be dropped at Cochin airport to board your flight back home
