Raan To Patan - North Indian Photo Albums

The Patan district in northern Gujarat shares some elements of its history with neighbouring Rajasthan. The architecture of this region is particularly fine with two examples being the Sun Temple at Modhera and Ranki Vav Step Well in Patan itself- both date from the 11th century CE. To the west of Patan is the Little Rann of Kutch- a vast area of semi-desert and salt marshes- which is one of the finest destinations in India for bird-watching.
