With a coastline stretching some 720 kilometres, midway up India’s west coast is the state of Maharashtra.
There are a number of spots along this coast which are becoming more popular by the year, and this week-long itinerary will help you explore some of them.
Mumbai Arrive
You’ll be met on arrival at Mumbai airport and assisted with the transfer to your hotel. Your introduction to coastal Maharashtra will be staying in Colaba, South Mumbai, and right by Mumbai Harbour and near to the famous Marine Parade. Overnight at Mumbai.
Mumbai - Kashid
Depart Mumbai in the morning and drive to Kashid, a quiet peaceful beach in the Konkan region of Maharashtra and later visit the Janjira Fort, a 17th century fort located offshore in the Arabian Sea. Drive a little further to Nandgaon Beach and visit the Ganesh temple here. Overnight at Kashid.
Kashid - Harnai
Head to Harnai and visit the Suvarnadurg Fort, another seaside fort built in the 17th century. Constructed during the reign of King Shivaji the fort stands as a testimony to the royal Maratha Kingdom. Overnight at Harnai
Harnai - Mumbai
Drive back to Mumbai and spend your final night at a hotel/resort at Juhu Beach; overnight in the Juhu district of Mumbai
