Without doubt India's wildlife and natural environments are under immense threat from human encroachment. But there are many wonderful places where it is possible to catch a glimpse of an unspoilt landscape - those National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries where dedicated teams of conservationists strive to protect the incredible diversity of the country's wildlife. From the premier tiger habitats in north and central India, through to the expansive grasslands of Kaziranga in Assam which house large populations of Indian rhinoceros; and the rainforests of the deep south - there is an enormous variety to 'wild India'. The photos here represent just a small sample of what you might expect to see on a 'jungle safari' in India.
We will be adding to this gallery when more images become available from our travels.
