The Taj Mahal

If a picture is worth a thousand words then the best way to present the Taj Mahal is surely with photos- those in this gallery have been taken during several visits to this most remarkable structure, located in the northern city of Agra. Although for most people one night in Agra is enough, we do try to ensure that while you are in the city you have the opportunity to make two visits to the Taj to capture its different ‘moods’, and the different type of visitors who throng to the site daily. Dawn is a magnificent time to be at the Taj as the rays of the rising sun illuminate the marble surfaces in an ever-shifting array of colours. And yet at the end of the day, the monument comes alive with local visitors and the multiple hues of ladies saris provide yet another contrast to the pure white surfaces of the building. Most people consider a visit to the Taj Mahal to be an essential part of any visit to India and it is very hard to argue with that logic.
